The second event from the anniversary of "The Fall of the Iron Curtain" series took place on the 1st of June, in Virgil Madgearu Reading Room, organized by the European Documentation Centre within the Central Library of the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest. The event was sustained by the Romanian dissident, engineer Radu Filipescu and was called "Dissidence – a Form of Internal Geopolitics during the Communism in Romania".
The participants at the event were: Mr. Dumitru Miron, PhD Vice-Rector, Professor Vasile Morar as a moderator, Mr. Ion Plumb, PhD Vice-Rector, Mrs Gabriela Dragan, Director of the European Institute of Romania, Mrs Voichita Dragomir Vice-Director General of the Central University Library of Bucharest, Mr. Mihai Sebea as a Vice-Dean from the Romanian-American University, Mr. Ghe. Buluta, Director of the Central Library within Medicine University "Carol Davila". There were also students, postgraduate students and librarians.
Mr. Dumitru Miron admited that „it is a special occassion to be beside Mr Radu Filipescu” and that this event is aligned on the documentation field.
In his lecture, Mr. Radu Flipescu described the moments he distributed manifests against Ceausescu and how he was followed by security, being imprisoned in Rahova, Jilava and Aiud.
The event represented a good opportunity to meet Radu Filipescu who remained an important page of the Romanian history.
