About us

From 2009, the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest hosts the European Documentation Centre ASE, as an integral part of the Central Library, on a basis of a cooperation agreement with the European Commission.

The EDC ASE means access to economic, political, sociological, legislative information and to other informational products (publications referring to all EU activities and European Development Policy) for all academic community members.

Our EDC represents a distinct space within the Academy of Economic Studies Central Library from Bucharest (in Virgil Madgearu Reading-Room), where the public can have access to a wide range of European publications elaborated by the Community institutions.

Mission

• The EDC helps the Academy of Economic Studies promote and consolidate teaching and research in the field of European integration;
  
  
• The EDC encourages the Academy of Economic Studies to partcipate in the debate on the European Union;
  
  
• The EDC gives the possibility to consult the information sources regarding the European Union and its policy.

Objectives

1. Building-up a collection of documents and information on the EU activity (publications referring to all EU activities and European Development Policy);
   
   
2. Supplying information sources on the EU and its policy as well as other issues related to Europe;
   
   
3. Development of informational services and products provided by the EDC publications;
   
   
4. Involvement of the EDC in different actions related to European integration.

Like the Treaties and agreements; A wide range of free of charge periodicals.
